It isn't the mind that creates beautiful work it's the soul.

Artist Statement
I’m Lydia, a visual artist working and living in Duisburg,Germany.
Creating something completely new from deconstructed letters, prints, paint and ink is an ongoing intuitive visual experiment for me.
The source materials for my mixed media work and artist books are found paper, vintage paper, monoprints, all kinds of homemade decorated paper and various art materials.
I’m inspired by the material itself. When I create, it’s all about finding connections between the different materials and various shapes. I ask myself, “How can I connect this with that?” It’s an intuitive process of discovery.
Since I was a child, I have always loved to create and recycle things.
To have an intuitive approach, I like to work spontaneously and try to avoid overthinking.
I like to work with different materials but paper is one of my favorite materials to work with.
